Researchers in Toronto used artificial intelligence to see how “loss of smell” searches correlated with confirmed Covid-19 cases in countries across the world. They found that the increase in these searches and cases of the virus correlate well, with especially strong trends seen in places where the virus spread earlier, like Italy and Iran.
