A medical expert advisory panel is meeting today to review the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Moderna in order to help the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) make a ruling on whether to approve the vaccine for emergency use.

FDA scientists have already given Moderna’s vaccine a favorable review. The advisory panel is expected to vote in favor of granting an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the vaccine and the FDA is expected to soon follow that recommendation. Translation: the U.S. will very likely have a second Covid-19 vaccine soon. But let’s watch what happens.

The daylong public meeting will include reviews of the companies’ clinical trial data, discussions on how the vaccine will continue to be monitored for safety and effectiveness, and how it will be distributed. You can watch the meeting below from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
