While the president says he will be checking out of Walter Reed hospital on Monday evening, his treatment so far suggests a pretty aggressive regimen.
“They really should keep him in the hospital until about 10 days into his illness just to make sure he doesn’t get worse,” Celine Gounder, MD, an infectious disease expert at NYU Langone told Elemental. “Usually that’s when patients decompensate, and they can decompensate very quickly.”
