Like most Americans, I’m rarely leaving my apartment these days. But there are the occasional trips to the grocery store and pharmacy, and walks around the block. Given the widespread message that everyone should stay six feet away from each other, there’s nothing more disconcerting than a hand reaching over you in the pasta aisle or a runner taking up all the space on the sidewalk. (Or, say, hordes of people crowding together to watch a Navy ship).
