It’s Time to Get Your Cancer Screening
As Robert Roy Britt reports, screening for breast, colon, and cervical cancers plummeted around 90% early this year compared to previous years and were still about one-third lower than normal as of mid-June. From January 1 to April 18, diagnoses were 51.8% lower for breast cancer and 24.7% lower for pancreatic cancer compared to the same time period last year. This is largely due to medical clinics cutting back on non-Covid-related services earlier in the pandemic. But experts tell Britt they worry that delays in screening could lead to delays in diagnoses and lead to more advanced stages of cancer and poorer prognoses. Now is time to consider how to get screened. Read the story below for more details.
