How to Safely Form a ‘Pod’ During the Pandemic
Pandemic pods, often referred to as “bubbles,” are partnerships between families during the Covid-19 pandemic. The idea is to provide care for kids who are not attending school in person and to improve socialization for children and families who feel isolated. But since forming a pod involves being in close contact with other people who are not part of your household, there’s a higher risk that someone will get or spread Covid-19. Fortunately, there are strategic ways to minimize that risk. Kristi McClamroch, PhD, MPH, an infectious disease epidemiologist and parent, created this framework that can help make a pod as safe as possible.
