How the FDA Is Battling the White House

The New York Times reports this week that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is trying to stand up to the president. The agency published guidelines for green-lighting a Covid-19 vaccine without White House approval, and the Times reports that the head of the FDA, Stephen M. Hahn, MD, “seems to be trying to save the FDA from the fate of its sister agency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, whose scientists have been stripped of much of their authority and independence in responding to the pandemic.” Read the full story below.
