A message from New York Senator Zellnor Y. Myrie:

Some will say that we should not be questioning the process during the crisis, that the focus must remain on saving lives and only when the crisis is over should we figure out what went wrong. I disagree. Our communities are always told to wait, and, in many instances, waiting turns out to be a losing proposition. Life and death decisions are being made right now, and we cannot reclaim the lives lost once they are gone. We must act now.
