At a Tuesday White House briefing, Dr. Deborah Birx walked reporters through data from five graphs helping to inform the U.S. response. Washington Post rounded up the graphs in this really helpful story.

Here’s one graph that really stuck out:

It’s the “flatten the curve” graph with some especially relevant figures. The peak of the graph indicates that if no countermeasures were taken, 2.2 million Americans could die from Covid-19. With interventions, the death rate is expected to be much lower, but could still hit 100,000 lives lost.
