Covid-19 Advice for New Moms and Babies
Jeff Livingston, MD, an OB-GYN in Texas, writes about how hospitals are working to adapt to the challenges of Covid-19 while also preserving “the normalcy and beauty of childbirth.” One common question he gets is: “Will they take my baby away if I have the coronavirus?” Thankfully, the data shows that “mothers with Covid-19 can safely room with their newborn with precautions to prevent the transmission of respiratory droplets. Separating infants from the mother did not reduce the risk of newborn infection.”
