As Viral High Season Looms, It’s Not the Time for Covid Fatigue

With the high season for viral transmission looming, scientists are worried that Covid-19 fatigue and complacency could encourage more spread of the virus as people migrate indoors, take more risks, and otherwise let their guards down, reports.
“A mood that ‘we’re past this’ is palpable and worrisome,” epidemiologist Saskia Popescu, PhD, an adjunct professor of public health at the University of Arizona, tells Britt. “After nine months and a lot of failures in response, people are tired and it’s hard to stay vigilant.
