An Uptick in Testing

It’s about time

Coronavirus testing has been woefully lagging in the U.S., but according to one estimate, it looks like it has more than doubled this week. By the end of the day on Monday, March 16, only about 41,000 tests had been performed across the country. Now, more than 100,000 tests have been administered.

The data comes from the COVID Tracking Project, a resource maintained by The Atlantic, which collects information from 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and five other U.S. territories. The tracker aims to include positive and negative results, pending tests, and total people tested for each state or district currently reporting that data.
