A Reminder for Mask-Wearers

Reminder: This is why you wear a mask. The Atlantic published an interesting story about mask confusion. It’s a good reminder that masks can be worn to protect the wearer (think health care workers) or they are worn to protect other people from the wearer. The former is harder to do unless you have a N95 or more heavy-duty mask option. The latter is easier for everyone—and it’s important. See here:

“If we lower the likelihood of one person infecting another, the impact is exponential, so even a small reduction in those odds results in a huge decrease in deaths. Luckily, blocking transmission outward at the source is much easier. It can be accomplished with something as simple as a cloth mask.”
