  • As CNN reports, a U.S. Army reservist and mother is at the center of an intensely popular conspiracy theory that blames her for starting the pandemic by bringing the disease to China, even though she’s never tested positive for Covid-19 or shown symptoms.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has added six new symptoms to the list of potential signs you might have coronavirus, says NPR. They include “chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell.”
  • New Zealand and Australia are approaching complete elimination of coronavirus, even though the leaders of each nation are political polar opposites. The New York Times explores how these leaders put aside partisan politics to mount an effective response.
  • Pepcid is meant to soothe heartburn after too much spicy food, but doctors in New York are testing its active ingredient, famotidine, on Covid-19 patients, reports Science. The testing situation isn’t ideal because many patients are already on the controversial drug hydroxychloroquine: “Is it good science? No,” said one doctor. “It’s the real world.”
