Some perspectives on face masks. It’s critically important that people do not hoard face masks. Health care workers on the front lines are facing a shortage in masks, especially high-grade N95 masks. If you have access to them, hospitals around the U.S. are asking for donations.

Is there any situation when people should cover their face? Most public health advice says masks are not effective for healthy people to wear everyday and they don’t sit snugly on the face. But some studies (and a new New York Times story) suggest a little coverage might be worthwhile in certain cases.
